EO Members Get "Backstage" Look at Lowry Park Zoo

While members of EO Central Florida might often think their lives are a "zoo", a group of members and guests recently visited the top-ranked Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa for a behind-the-scenes look at life that really IS a zoo.

Members were given the VIP treatment from the start, as the tour was led by Craig Pugh, Executive Director/CEO. The group was allowed special access to all of the exhibits and a chance to meet with the trainers and specialists who manage the animals. At every corner there stood an expert ready to discuss manatees, giraffes, elephants and brown bears.  Following the tour, EO members were treated to a reception at Reilly's Reserve at the park.
Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is today ranked the number one zoo in the country and recognized by the State of Florida as a center for Florida wildlife conservation and biodiversity. The zoo is made up of 56 acres of lush natural habitat and has more than 1,500 animals.
