EO Chicago Member Discusses Lay-Offs in USA Today

EO Chicago member Julie Northcutt shares her experience being laid off in a recent USA Today article. In the article, titled "Business founders likely to emerge from meltdown," Julie says "The best time to start a business is when everyone else believes it's the worst time."

After she was laid off from golf-related Internet startup in 2001, she started Chicagoland Caregivers, an agency that provided services to seniors needing home care. She sold the 125-employee company in 2007 and started Caregiverlist.com, a Web site that matches senior homes to employees.
