Success story Vasteco Founder Sibel Engin
Sibel Engin, director of Vasteco SA, has a multinational and multi-sectoral
professional career. She is managing her business both in Switzerland and USA.
Her experience as an entrepreneur has thought her that she is able to overcome
any obstacles in any countries’ business environment, thanks to her
flexibility. Here is her entrepreneurship story:
After graduating from Istanbul University’s Business Management
department, Sibel Engin had worked in various international brands as public
relations and communications consultant for more than 10 years. She then moved
to Paris and actively took part in the process of Genova based Brandsens Brand
Management Company’s entry to Turkish market between 2006 and 2008. It was
2008, when she founded Vasteco SA with her partner, to import ready-to-wear
textiles from Turkey and sell at their own stores in Switzerland. Today the
company’s area of focus is still import, export and consultancy.
Biggest challenge in Sibel Engin’s entrepreneurship journey was to gain
a place in the sector with their brand. But Vasteco introduced brand new colors
to the Switzerland market by bringing Turkish products in. Throughout the
years, her route followed a different direction. They established a new firm in
USA. There, she learned that she is flexible enough to adapt to new countries’
business scene and be successful anywhere she goes. Engin says that this makes
her very proud.
But Sibel Engin is never resting on her laurels. She is confident about
her expertise but always keeps an open mind about new experiences. What about
the future goals? Her biggest ambition is to support her clients and take a
part on the way to their success and development.
