A journey to the history and meyhane culture of Istanbul

EO Turkey is planning a very interesting excursion on this Sunday, the 7^th of May. The in-city trip which will be leaded by tourist guide and writer Ahmet Faik Ozbilge, will start at 10.30 am. The participants will be amazed by Istanbul’s rich cultural and historical journey through Karaköy, Sütlüce, Ayvansaray, Balat and Küçükpazar. The route will include monuments, art studios, antique and second hand shops as well as little-known gastronomic havens of the old town. Özbilge will share details about meyhane culture, such as how people used to spend time, what they ate and drank there, what the customs and jargons were. It is going to be a long but pleasant day with an opportunity to dive into the secrets of Istanbul and spend time with friends and family.
