President/CEO, Baton Rouge Duplicating Products (BRDP)
Interview conducted by Winnie Hart, Communications Director
Please tell us briefly about your company.
My
company, Baton Rouge Duplicating Products (BRDP), is an authorized
Lanier and Kyocera Dealer. We handle sales, service and supplies of
digital copiers, printers, scanners, fax and multifunction office
products. We also provide document management solutions for scanning
documents, archiving, retrieval, and emailing. My father started the
business 53 years ago and I purchased it from him in 2006.
Why did you join EO and how long have you been a member?
I joined EO for the Forum experience and have been a member since 2003.
What do you like best about your business?
Relationships
- I enjoy the business relationships that I have with our customers and
being able to find affordable solutions to their office needs.
What is your proudest accomplishment to date in your business?
In 2006, I received the Better Business Bureau's Douglas Manship, Sr. Torch Award for Ethics in Business.
What do you feel is the greatest accomplishment in your entire life?
My wonderful husband, Todd, and our two beautiful girls, Addison and Amelia.
What is something you hope will be written about you in your obituary?
It would please me most if they wrote, "she was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend."
On a lighter note, what do you do for fun these days?
For
R&R, I leave town on Friday to go to our camp on False River and
come back on Sunday night. I sit on the pier overlooking the water with
a cocktail and a great book.
Got anything big coming up on the horizon for you personally or with business that you want to share?
Two
months ago, we added the Lanier Product Line (which is owned by Ricoh
America) and we will start a marketing campaign to let the business
community know of our new additional services.
Who has the biggest influence on your life?
My Dad had the biggest influence, and then the rest of my family.
What are the most influential books that you have read?
There are several: Good to Great, The Purpose Driven Life, Small Giants, Creating Competitive Advantage, and The Law of Attraction are a few.
What has been the best thing about being a member of EO New Orleans?
The wonderful friendships that I have in my River Forum, and the opportunity it's given me to reconnect with many old friends.
